Last Mass Video
A Tribute to St. John Cantius Church
(Video Instructions)

The final Mass of St. John Cantius Polish Catholic Church in Delray (Detroit) was celebrated on October 28, 2007. This archival video was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Detroit. The video credits are contained in part 9 of this video. This video and it's copyright remains their property.

A copy of this video was given to me by an Old Delray contributor. Thank you James (Mick) Walters. The original video is a total of 61 minutes runtime and 768 meg. I had to split this video up into sections manageable for viewing on the Internet. So it became necessary to create two different versions and presentations of this video.

YouTube is the DeFacto source for videos on the Internet. It provides a great service. It is already familiar to most Internet users. Most people can already view their videos in their browsers without any additional work on their part. This is obviously the easiest way to viet this video my a great majority of people. But YouTube does have one drawback. Inorder to conserve bandwidth it's videos undergo a conversion to a Flash format (.flv) which reduces both the filesize and the video size by 50%. This is not wrong, but it is necessary for compatability with the majority of browsers. Therefore I have created one version of this video and placed it on YouTube even though it has some visual limitations.

DivX is a great standard for videos and movies. It has the same high quality as watching a movie on your TV. I have created 720X480 pixel segments of this video, which is almost twice the size and qulity of a YouTube segment. Inorder to watch these videos in this highest quality DivX format it is neccessary for you to download and install a FREE DivX plugin for your browser. The whole procedure takes about two minutes or less, and is well worth the small effort to view and enjoy this last tribute to a great church. I spent a very long time and effort and some expense inorder so that you could watch this video in the DivX format.
