During WWII, The sons and daughters of Delray went in harms way to serve in the military. Many never returned.

Josef was a tail gunner in a B-17
Stanley was in the Army Corp of Engineers


Charles Paul Kemeny (U. S. Army)
War Hero. He was killed in France in August 1944. For his heroism, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. A community center building and playfield (Charles P. Kemeny Playfield) in Detroit was named in his honor. Read the full story here -->
