The format, Look & Feel of this photo is similar to some of my own family wedding photos that were taken in Delray in the late 1930's and early 1940's. The photo is definitely from that era.
Where on Facebook do you have the list of names posted or tagged?

There are no dates on the cardboard case the photo is in, and it doesn't appear that the photo can come out of the case. But I've asked a few people and hopefully they'll get back to me soon. There are a LOT of people tagged in this photo on Facebook, so hopefully one of the family members will know the date.

This is a photo of the wedding between Johnny Martin and Olga Hallup.  From what I've learned it took place in Delray, and they are all "Gypsies" who lived in that neighborhood. I've managed to collect most of the names of the people in the photo, and it seems there were many copies of this one made. If you think you know some of the people, please feel free to let me know so I can "tag" them on Facebook. (where I have this photo, and many more posted) thanks!

Going to Estral Beach in Monroe for the Hungarian Picnic was a real treat. The first thing I remember was how much cleaner the water was than the river that went through Delray. The food was great also.

Hi -
I am a native of Dayton, Ohio, who now works as a news reporter for a newspaper in Arizona.
In the early 1990s, I researched and wrote a manuscript about the history of the Hungarisn community in Dayton I plan to publish for a book in the near future.
I am looking for anyone who knew Elek Polagyi (possibly Palagyi) who used to own, I believe, the Hungarian village Restaurant in Delray in the 1930s. Mr. Polagyi later opened a restaurant under the same name in Dayton in the late 1930s and owned it for a number of years. He brought in many Hungarian gypsy musicians who used to play in the restaurant and lived above it.

Does anyone remember him or know of any of his relatives still living in the Delray area or Michigan? I would love to contac them to get a picture of him and possibly some vintage pictures of his restaurant in Dayton.

I look forward to hearing from anyone!

Thank you!
