The barber on west end..

There was barber shop on west end near the tracks, my father would get his hair cut there on Saturday's when needed, as child remember that barber pole and the Barber his name was Andy, my father would always call hin Andy bachie wrong spelling it means someting in Hungarian.. But the barber Andy lived in Lincoln Park on Farnham street my Neni knew him forever, anyone remember the Barbershop or the barber..Thank you again.

Bache roughly means 'Uncle'. They did not have to always be a real relative. It was a name or title of respect. Same with 'Nani' which meant Lady. So if a lady's name was Mary, you might call her Mary Nani; or accually 'Mutti Nani'. If the man's name was Jim, you would address him as 'Imre Bachie'. That's how it was in my family. Magyar Man appreciate that alot remember my Father always used those words out of respect he always seemed to use them on older people..Do you remember the Barber called Andy magyar man..

Sorry, I do not know this Barber.
