Good afternoon everyone,

Holy Cross Hungarian Roman Catholic Church will be hosting a bake sale Saturday May 08, 2010 11:00am-4:00pm in the church hall.

The following items will be on sale:
Apple Cake, Criss-Cross, Flaky Kifli, Kifli, Walnut & Poppy Seed Kalacs, Palacsinta, Pogacsa, Zerbo and assorted plates.

If you have the time, come back to the "old neighborhood" to enjoy some authentic Hungarian pastries and help support the Holy Cross Parish.

Love & Peace,
Tressa Komara (Hornok)

It does my heart good to know that the old traditions are still alive in the "Old Neighborhood". Thanks for posting this, and keeping us informed.

Please see my message below to Richard regarding the annual Holy Cross Hungarian Roman Catholic Church at the Yack Arena in Wyandotte:

Good morning Richard,

Unfortunately, Holy Cross will not be having the festival this year. They will be having 3 events that will hopefully draw in the revenue that the festival would normally bring in. The bake sale on May 8th is the first event and the baked goods are a major portion of what is sold at the festival. I really would like to get the word out because we do have so many people that would attend the festival just to buy the pastries. I will continue to post all events that we have because as I am sure you are aware, it is a struggle to keep the church maintenance costs low and every penny helps. Please feel free to contact me anytime. I really love your website and forum and I am very proud to be a small part of it.

Take care!
