Do any you have any pictures of the Pulaski Bar in it's heyday? Inside or out is OK. With or without people is OK.
This would make a nice feature story on my website.
I did a Google search for Pulaski Bar, Detroit or Delray, and nothing came up. What a shame!
I already have a great story from the grand daughter of the founder of the Pulaski Bar in 1915. E-mail me directly with your photos.

My grandfather Ervin Romanek was one of the later owners of the Pulaski Bar. Not sure of what years though!

This note is in addition to request for pictures of the Pulaski Bar.  My grandmother and grandfather, Rose (Wilczynski) Zegunia and Alex Zegunia, owned the Pulaski Bar (on the corner of West Jefferson and Pulaski), and lived in the apartment above. I think my grandmother established it around 1915-1918 as Rose Wilczynski, before she married Alex Zegunia in 1918-20--and Alex subsequently adopted my mom Theresa, who was born in 1911. I believe this would have been from around 1915 through 1933 for my grandmother and from 1918 through 1966, when my grandfather passed away and the property was sold to Detroit Sewerage.  My mom, Theresa, married Frank Krupka (dad) in February 1937. I have memories of visiting my grandfather, Alex, every weekend during the 50s and 60s.  He lived above the bar. I hope someone is left to share some remembrances of the Pulaski Bar.  I only wish there were people alive who remembered my grandmother, who died 15 years before I was born (1933).  Grandma ran a blind pig within the Pulaski bar during prohibition.  I was told she smuggled whiskey in her corset from trips to Canada (she was a large lady).  Grandma sounded like quite a character.  If anyone has even a passed along memory of them, I would love to hear it.

I also have fond memories of taking the baskets of food to St. John Cantius Church to be Blessed on Good Fridays.  My grandmother was buried from that church in 1933.  My mom and dad were married at that church in 1937.

Also, in response to Redbeard--yes, I do believe the bar business, itself, may have been sold in the late 40's, early 50's--my grandfather remained owner of the building, but rented or leased the bar to your grandfather.  I think the bar then became vacant and never rented again from the late 50's early 60's until my grandfather's death in 1966.
