Hi!

Was just visiting your web site and would like to add my email

I'm sure I have a few Delray pictures.

Just a few briefs:
I was born at the Delray hospital at Zug Island
worked at Spike's, OSO Pop, the Shell gas station owned by the Bubinski's (spelling not sure!!), Tony Popovitch's (spelling?) meat market next to Zielinski's bakery.
hung around with the Ferry family (Richard? & Bunny), Jakey family, and Szypula family, and many more great people!!
Also know all the bars, inside and out, from Polaski bar, Marble Front, you name it, I shined shoes in them all, all the way downtown, and also to Belle Isle!!
Don't want to forget, Charlie Burgess Standard station -- lot's of fishing and swimming in the nice clean water!! hahahaha!!!   Surprised no one is glowing today....

Anyhow, just want to say, do appreciate your web site, it's always good to refresh the memories!!   :-)

p.s. not certain of the spelling of the last names, as a kid what was important was their friendship, not their background.  I must say, without a doubt, some of the most sincere people I've met lived in Delray!

Jakey family.  Do you remember Mrs. Ann Jaky?  She lived at 9370 Copland Street.  She lived there in 1966.

Hi PAL

In regard to Mrs. Ann Jakey, I'm not sure. would this be the mother or the daughter? The family lived behind the OLD Pulaski Bar - right on the alley and Pulaski Street.  I hung around with the kids, Timmy and his brothers playing kick the can until the street lights came on and we all had to go in.  Their father passed away in May 1959 at the age of 42.  I do not recall their mothers name.

Did you grow up in Delray?  Still living in the area?

All I have is her signature and her address from 1966.  It seems like she may have been the mother of the kids you played with......my mother passed away in 1966 and I think she must have known Ann Jakey.  I was wondering if she (Ann Jakey) is still alive.....

I didn't grow up in Delray, but my parents lived there for a short time.  My grandparents also lived there.
